Title: The Impact of Parenting Styles on Children's Social and Emotional Development

Abstract:

Introduction:

Participants:

Measures:

To measure parenting styles, we will use the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ; Robinson, Mandleco, Olsen, & Hart, 1995). This questionnaire consists of 36 items that are rated on a 5-point scale, and assesses three dimensions of parenting: warmth, control, and involvement. To measure children's social and emotional development, we will use the Social Skills Improvement System (SSIS; Gresham & Elliott, 2008), a standardized measure that assesses social skills and problem behaviors in children.

Procedure:

The study will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, we will conduct a literature review to identify existing research on the relationship between parenting styles and children's social and emotional development. In the second phase, we will conduct a quantitative study to test our hypothesis.
